SAMR Method

The SAMR model stands for Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. SAMR is a method that people can see how technology effect teachers' learning and students' learning.

Substitution:Teachers or students use the new technology tool to replace the old one, like we used to use Word to write our assignment but now we use the Google doc to do our assigment.

Augmentation: Before when we use Word we had to click "save" to save our work on computer, but now when we use Google doc, it will save automatically in the cloud.

The development, requires competitors to improve their own quality, but also requires school education at the forefront of the development direction of the development of school education also requires teachers to update teaching methods, the real use of information technology to teaching. The information technology as a tool to support teaching, give full play to information technology in student learning, active exploration, cooperation and exchange of advantages, a good teacher's role to achieve change. The role of information technology in teaching should not be underestimated, it assisted the students in cognitive function to be better than any previous technology. With the progress of time, technology will play an increasingly large role in the teaching process.
         

Symbaloo

I chose Symbaloo because I think that is a easy way to share some websites that I think they are good to my students. When students get into the my symbaloo and click the bookmark and it goes to that website.  It is easy to use. When I just type in the key words and it gives me the website that they are related to the key words. And the other thing I found that is very helpful is if you like the person's webmix, you can add it in to your own webmix, so you don't have to go to other people's webmix.

Website Evaluation

Many information on the Internet are useful, but there are also a lot of information that are bad, unhelpful, inappropriate. If the information are useful, students can solve the problem that they have in using this information. But since many information can be editing by any person, we have to look at where the source come from. When you students look at a website, the information should help them solve the problem of learning or life, and it is good for physical and mental development of students. So that is a useful website.

All About Me

Hello, my name is Pingping Xie. I was born in Kaiping, China. The high school that I graduated from was named Zhongyuan High School, it is located in my hometown. Three years ago, I moved to Chicago from China with my family. The first college that I attended was Harold Washington College, I finished my ESL classes in there. After that, I transfered to UIC to continue my education working towards my bachalors in early childhood education, only to find out that it was not avaliable anymore. So I decided to transfer to National Louis University. Beside a student, I am also a teacher in a day care center. After I finish my education, I want to be a teacher in CPS. In this class, I want to learn more skills about computer to help my students in the future!!!
